When the temperature is higher than the Bitmain Antminer S17 Series miner’s hash board max working temperature, the miner will go into high-temperature protection mode and shut down. Let’s look at some solutions to these issues in this manual.

Keep the Bitmain Antminer S17 Series miners’ surrounding temperature below 35 degrees Celsius at all times.

For example, a Bitmain Antminer S17 hash board working temperature is 75 degree Celsius maximum, anything beyond that will cause the miner to go into high-temperature protection mode and shut down. Check Bitmain Antminer S17 Series Normal Operating Temperature Range to know the hash board working temperature maximum of different models of Bitmain Antminer S17.

In addition, if the hash rate is zero, the miner might not be operating because of the high-temperature protection mode.

You can examine the kernel log of the miner to make sure. The high-temperature warning that is displayed in the miner’s kernel log is shown in the image below.

When the temperature is too high, other Bitmain Antminers like S9, T9, and L3+ will also enter this mode.

Finding the primary causes of high temperatures is crucial. Approximately two minutes after turning off the electricity, restart the miner. However, due to the high-temperature protection mode, if the surrounding temperature rises too much, the Bitmain Antminer S17 Series miner will still halt operations and shut down.

Reduce the ambient temperature to prevent the miner from becoming overheated.

Please take apart the front fan to clean the dirt since dust buildup in the miner will also result in high temperature protection.
