This guide will explain how to use your brand-new Bitmain Antminer S17 Series miners properly and improperly.

Use of the Bitmain Antminer S17 Series miner is required to ensure proper performance. To protect your Bitmain Antminer S17 Series miners from damage, abide by the suggestions in the following list of dos and don’ts.

These safety measures must be observed by all ANTMINERS.

Dos to Follow:

1. Look for cosmetic imperfections or dangling heat sinks on the Bitmain Antminer S17 Series miner. If you noticed damage or defect or found loose heat sinks, contact the seller immediately.

2. Place the miner where there will be no dust and ample airflow.

3. Wear anti-static PPE or discharge static electricity while installing or maintaining the miner.

4. Before installing or maintaining a miner, it must be unplugged. If you don’t, the control board will be harmed.

5. Use an energy source with a 20% higher output capacity than the miner needs. The hash rate will be low if the power source’s actual output is less than how much energy the miners need.

6. Connect the D/C power 6-pin connectors from the positive and negative PSU ports to the control board and hash boards of the miner in the correct manner.

The PSU will enter protection mode if they are improperly plugged in. Additionally, the control board and hash board will catch fire.

7. Each miner needs their own PSU. The hash boards can all be powered by a single PSU, whereas the miner can use multiple PSUs.

The 6-pin power connectors can be switched out, so it doesn’t matter how they are attached to the miner.

8. The control board should be turned on after the hash boards. As soon as the hash boards and control board are connected to a single PSU miner, it can be turned on.

9. Verify the miner’s wiring or grounding to make sure it is done correctly.

10. Install lightning protection to keep your equipment from being damaged by lightning.

11. WiFi is not supported; ANTMINERs only support Ethernet cables.

  • Common RJ45 cables can be used

12. The miners don’t need to be unplugged and restarted if the network or internet connection can be restored within 15 minutes.

Disconnect the miner’s power if the issue couldn’t be fixed right away. The miner will shut down if there is a faulty internet connection.

  • Since different models have different configuration options, you should speak with the router’s manufacturer to find out how many miners it can support.
  • 150 miners can function with a 1 Mbps connection.

13. A miner typically uses 500 MB of internet each month, so if you’re using a data card, make sure you have enough.

14. Google Chrome and Firefox are the supported web browsers.

15. Periodically dust and clean the miner. Problems will arise for the miner if the airway in front of the heat sinks is blocked.

Don’ts to Follow:

IMPORTANT: You shouldn’t use several PSUs to power a single hash board.

1. Outside of enclosed or restricted spaces, use the miner. There must be nothing obstructing airflow in the miner.

2. Never use the miner in an area with a lot of humidity, salt in the air, or condensation.

  • It’s recommended to keep the humidity at or below 65%. The hash board is easily damaged by the high salinity levels found along the coast.

3. When it’s hot outside, don’t use the miner. Between 5 and 35 degrees Celsius is the suggested temperature range for the workplace.

The hash rate will be low when the ambient temperature is low. The miner will deteriorate in hot temperatures for a very long time.

4. If there has been a significant accumulation of dust, avoid using a water curtain (for cooling). As water vapor adheres to the dust buildup, the hash boards will corrode.

5. Due to the potential for burning the control board, PoE function switches and routers are not permitted.

6. Keep your hands off the connectors on the fan and control board because they are in close proximity to the IC pins. If these connectors are touched without an electrostatic discharge, the IC will be harmed, which will cause the miner to stop working.

7. A miner that seems damaged shouldn’t be operated.
